Nel periodo del Lock Down a Venezia si è verificata una ecatombe di esercizi commerciali e negozi storici. Per alcuni si è trattato di una salutare "distruzione creativa". In realtà a valle di questo evento Venezia ha fatto un'ulteriore passo nella traiettoria da "soggetto di mercanti" a "oggetto di mercato".
